As you begin your college career at Philadelphia University, there is no better time to honor the many people who have helped you prepare for this new challenge and made a lasting impact on your future. For the last several years, Philadelphia University has recognized these special people in our students’ lives by honoring them with the Philadelphia University Centennial Educator Award and recognizing their efforts at Convocation in August.
We invite all incoming new students to nominate someone for this award. A teacher, professor, counselor, principal or anyone involved in your education who helped you develop to your potential, challenged you, supported you in the pursuit of your goals, and helped you focus on your dreams would be an appropriate candidate for this award.
Every nominee will receive a certificate and a letter from Philadelphia University President Dr. Stephen Spinelli, Jr. with thanks for contributing to the academic achievement of the student nominator. A committee will select the Centennial Educator’s Award winners from the pool of nominees. The winners are invited to campus to receive a Centennial Medal on August 21, 2014 during the Convocation ceremony, an event that formally begins the academic year on campus.
Please submit your nomination to CentennialEducators@PhilaU.edu (CentennialEducators null@null PhilaU NULL.edu) by July 1, 2014 with the following information:
- Your Name and Major
- Nominee’s Name
- Affiliated Academic Institution’s Name, Address and Telephone Number
- A brief essay that includes the attributes, qualifications and special contributions of your nominee and the way this individual has affected your life
