Gianna Cosentino '02, will give the first lecture in the Fashion Alumni Lecture Series on Thursday, Oct. 13.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, Philadelphia University will be hosting the first Fashion Alumni Lecture Series in the Paul J. Gutman Library Media Classroom from 1 to 2 p.m. with Gianna Cosentino ’02, director of New Romantics for Free People, a division of Urban Outiftters.

The lecture series is in its first year and will provide students the opportunity to hear from leading fashion alums from all aspects of the fashion industry including design, marketing and industry management professionals.

“Our alums are our most valuable resource,” said Clara Henry, director of the fashion design program. “What better way for our students to know the possibilities of the industry than from our alums?”

Cosentino will discuss the inspiration behind her brand as well as the process of design and product development.

“Gianna has made such a mark at Urban Outfitters with many significant contributions,” said Henry.

The event will be half lecture and half Q&A. Cosentino will also be bringing products from her line for students to see up close.

Future lectures will be held at least once a month with the next confirmed speaker, Under Armour, on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
