Two PhilaU Designers Named “Students to Watch in 2013” by Graphic Design USA Magazine

For the second consecutive year, two PhilaU students were named “Students to Watch” by Graphic Design USA Magazine.

PhilaU students Annelise Babula ’13 and Jewéll Richardson ’13 were recently named as “Students to Watch in 2013” in the latest issue of Graphic Design USA Magazine.

Babula and Richardson were among only 25 students chosen nationwide to receive this prestigious accolade. Philadelphia University was one of the 15 Universities represented this year.

This achievement marks the second year in a row Philadelphia University was represented in the magazine’s “Students to Watch” section. Last year’s issue featured PhilaU alumni Natalie Vespe ’12 and Christina Lanzisero ’12.

“This is a very prestigious list of schools and to be selected as one of only 15 schools nationwide is itself a huge honor,” said Frank Baseman, program director of graphic design communications. He believes Philadelphia University’s continued representation in Graphic Design USA is due in part to its faculty. “They are accomplished professionals that have themselves achieved a high level of success in their careers,” Baseman said. “They care deeply about the success of their students. The success of the students is our success.”

Babula and Richardson were selected to represent PhilaU by the graphic design faculty for their leadership, academic achievements and engagement with the Graphic Design Program.
