Alum Elected to Prestigious Academy for Distinguished Engineers

Marty Gurian ’65, a graduate of the B.S. in Textile Engineering program at Philadelphia University, was recently selected for membership in the 2013 Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech, where he received his master’s degree.

Gary May, dean of the college of engineering at Georgia Tech, wrote in Gurian’s induction letter, “Your accomplishments professionally and personally exemplify the pinnacle of success for a Georgia Tech graduate, and we are privileged to recognize and honor you.”

Gurian is currently the director of engineering resources and technical services at DesignTex, a subsidiary of Steelcase Inc. He is also a professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Philadelphia University congratulates Marty on his well-deserved award.
