Fashionista Ranks PhilaU Fashion Programs among Top 50 Worldwide

Fashionista ranked PhilaU fashion as the 37th best program in the world.

Philadelphia University was selected as one of the “Top 50 Fashion Schools in the World” in the 2013 rankings by Fashionista, a leading international web site for fashion news and trends.

Fashionista listed Philadelphia University’s fashion programs, which include majors in fashion design and fashion merchandising and management, at number 37 in this year’s rankings of the top fashion programs around the globe. The University was highlighted for its innovative curriculum, dedicated faculty and successful alumni. “Philadelphia University fashion students are passionate about their program: students have landed jobs at Donna Karan, Urban Outfitters, Tommy Hilfiger and more,” Fashionista reported.

Philadelphia University’s fashion programs immerse students in the industry, giving them the depth of expertise and broad knowledge of the industry, covering everything from sketching designs to developing business plans. Housed in the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce, the fashion programs at PhilaU benefit from the transdisciplinary spirit of Kanbar College where students are taught to think innovatively and work collaboratively.

Students learn through hands-on work in studios and with industry partners. Every spring, the best student fashion designs are showcased on the runway at Philadelphia University’s Annual Fashion Show at the Academy of Music, which is the largest fashion show in Philadelphia each year.
