Kradel-Weitzel receives Sappi grant to support arts education in public schools

Maribeth Kradel-Weitzel, associate professor of graphic design communication, has been awarded a $30,000 grant from Sappi Fine Paper’s Ideas That Matter program to create promotional materials for Fresh Artists, an organization that seeks to generate funding and programming for arts education in underfunded public schools.  The Sappi grant program, now in its 14th year, helps designers create and implement print projects that support charitable causes.

“This year’s winning projects reflect the on-going commitment in the design community to utilize design in combination with innovative thinking to solve social problems,” Sappi said in a press release announcing the awards.
