Four interior design seniors placed in the prestigious 2014 Jacobs Philadelphia Interiors Studio student design competition.

Hyde Chrastina won third place and a $1,000 prize. Chesenia Burgos, Rebecca Morris and Emily Stansell each received an honorable mention award of $500.

The awards were presented at a Nov. 6 ceremony at Philadelphia’s Hyatt at the Bellevue attended by interior design faculty, architecture and design firms, and industry sponsors.

The competition, held Oct. 25 in the Jacobs offices, allowed students seven hours to design a new headquarters for Saxbys Coffee, including reception space, work areas, offices, a café and collaborative meeting spaces.

“Their winning design solutions show that our students know how to innovate and communicate their ideas under pressure—a skill that will serve them well in the workplace,” said Lauren Baumbach, interior design and interior architecture programs director.
