Transdisciplinary Focus is Key to MBA Education, President Spinelli Tells BizED

Teaching decision making across disciplinary boundaries should be an important component of MBA programs, many of which are too “vanilla,” PhilaU President Stephen Spinelli Jr. said in a BizEd article on MBA education.

“Most business schools do not have the expertise to even address transdisciplinary leadership,” Spinelli said.  He added that contemporary deans need to have “strategic intensity and a bias toward action” coupled with the ability to build relationships inside and outside of the business school.
