PhilaU’s Peter Alexis Invited To Play In DII College All-Star Game

Peter-Alexis-2Philadelphia University senior forward Peter Alexis has been selected to play in the 2016 Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

The Division II All-Star Game—which consists of 20 seniors from across the eight regions—will be held on Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. (CDT) at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas as part of the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

Alexis is the third player in Philadelphia University history to participate in the invitation-only event, joining Tayron Thomas (2006) and Christian Burns (2007).

The invitation to play in the All-Star Game caps off a tremendous senior season for Alexis in which he was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year and earned a place on the NABC Coaches Division II All-East District and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region first teams. Alexis was also selected to the College Sports Information Directors of American Academic All-America Division II Men’s Basketball first team.

He became the second player in program history to record 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Alexis led the CACC in total blocks (78), made field goals (251), field goal shooting (61.5 percent), and double-doubles (15). He ranked second in the conference in total rebounds (293), total points (619), rebounds per game (9.2), minutes per game (39:07), and third in points per game (19.3).

Alexis will leave Philadelphia University second in career blocks (268), third in rebounds (1,162), and fourth in scoring (2,116 points).
