Devyn O’Neill ’10 continues to works closely with PhilaU’s College of Architecture and the Built Environment.

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Delaware Chapter has named Philadelphia University interior design alumna Devyn O’Neill ’10 as its Chapter Professional Member of the Year.

The organization said it chose O’Neill for this honor because she’s an active member of IIDA and a National Council for Interior Design Qualification-certified professional who continues to prove her dedication and commitment to interior design. In addition, she inspires others to get involved with IIDA and works closely with PhilaU’s College of Architecture and the Built Environment as a frequent guest juror for critiques and as a speaker to prospective students.

O’Neill started her IIDA career at the University when she served as treasurer of the PhilaU Chapter. Studying interior, graphic and interactive design in a semester abroad in Milan, Italy, further strengthened her passion for design and creativity.

After graduation, she gained experience working on a variety of projects both local and national, including hospitality, retail, higher education, corporate and workplace. Now an interior designer for HOK, O’Neill advocates for the Interior Design Legislative Coalition of Pennsylvania in promoting occupational recognition for interior design registration in the state, as well as regularly participates in portfolio reviews and mentoring programs to foster growth in younger designers.
