The Philadelphia University women’s volleyball team will compete in the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament for the first time in the program’s 20-year history.

After receiving the sixth seed in the East Region, the Rams will take on the third seed University of New Haven in the opening round on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y.

The winner of the first round match between the Rams and Chargers will play second seeded and host Daemen or seventh seeded Post University in the second round on Dec. 2. The region final is set for Dec. 3 at Daemen.

The region winner advances to the national championship tournament, which will begin on Thursday, Dec. 8 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The team—which is now 29-4 and on a 17-match winning streak—earned its place in the tournament by defeating Caldwell University 3-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament final on Nov. 20 to get the conference’s automatic bid.

Go Rams!
