Philadelphia University students presented a fashion collection using innovative digital printing technology at the Epson Digital Couture show at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 7, Printwear reported Feb. 10.
The collection features layering of printed textiles, inspired by “nature’s perplexing and changing beauty,” according to PhilaU textile engineer and program director Mark Sunderland.
PhilaU was the only university invited to participate in the event, which featured professional designers from throughout the Americas.
“(The students) bring a deep knowledge of the materials, and they’ve helped us tremendously on the technical side,” said Epson Global President Minoru Usui, explaining the significance and inspiration behind the collaborations.
