The work of Philadelphia University fashion students is currently on display at the Macy’s in Center City as part of the Go Red for Women campaign, the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. The gowns featured are by Deanna Wedge, Alia Sod, Alana McHugh, Emily Debernardo and Patricia Franklin. They will up until July 13.
The red dress has become a symbol of efforts to raise awareness about heart health in women. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States.
