Jefferson Medical Student Clarifies Facts on Birth Control: Metro

In an Sept. 6 op-ed in Metro, Sidney Kimmel Medical College fourth-year student Annie Ferris disputed the anecdotal claims in a recent Metro article on the “hidden dangers” of birth control and tampons.

“These side effects from birth control are incredibly rare, and many forms are very safe for most women. I would strongly advise seeking medical advice from professionals rather than a newspaper columnist who confuses anecdotes with evidence,” Ferris wrote.
