Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) fashion programs have been ranked among the top 25 programs in the world, according to just-released rankings by the influential fashion web site Fashionista.
This latest validation comes on the heels of last month’s Fashionista report that placed Jefferson fashion programs among the top 10 in the U.S.
Also last month, Business of Fashion ranked Jefferson fashion programs, including undergraduate and graduate fashion and textile design, fashion merchandising and management and global fashion management, among the top programs in the world.
For the most recent rankings, Fashionista considered such things as tuition, the success of graduates and student and alumni feedback. They reviewed the quality of the faculty, the practical and business training provided, resources, technology, social life, career counseling and financial aid options.
Only seven U.S. schools made the worldwide rankings. The top three programs are Central Saint Martins in London, Parsons, the New School for Design in New York, and London College of Fashion. See the full rankings here.
In last month’s report, Fashionista said Jefferson is “focused on providing a holistic approach to fashion design education—addressing not only design but also technology, production, business and other elements required to actually make it as a designer.”
