Jefferson Merger Yields Positive Results, Embracing Need for Change in Higher Education: The Philadelphia Inquirer

While it may take more time to formally declare it a success, the merger of Philadelphia University and Thomas University University already is yielding positive results- applications have surged, donations are up and there are a growing number of campus collaborations, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported March 1 in a wide-ranging story on the impact of the July 1 merger.

“Now, [University] leaders say, they aspire to become the equivalent of an Ivy League school for professional education,” according to the article.

More than a dozen University leaders, faculty members and students were interviewed for the story.
