University Holding “Shark Tank”-Style Competition for Cannabis Startups: High Times, Philadelphia Magazine, Green Rush Daily

“We want to see creative and different approaches to the industry, especially in ancillary businesses,” Zoe Selzer McKinley, the entrepreneurship and social impact initiative director at the Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp, told High Times.

High Times called the Lambert Center “one of the country’s leading medical marijuana cannabis research centers. And as it builds more partnerships with university-affiliated departments and organizations, Thomas Jefferson University is transforming Philadelphia into a center for cutting-edge research and innovation in the fields of cannabis and hemp.”

By 2020, legal cannabis in the United States is expected to become a $22 billion industry, Philadelphia Magazine reported.
